Rajka Apple
Rajka is a good modern variety from the Czech Republic. Rajka is a cross between Sampion and Katka. Katka is a cross between Jolana and Rubin. Jolana is a Czech variety, that is a cross between Spartan and an unlabeled cross, which carries the Vf gene. From here Vf gene are crossed over in Rajka.

Rajka have been bred specifically as a scab resistant variety that carries the Vf gene. Although the Vf gene does not protect against the latest scab races, Rajka are a healthy variety that is suitable as a garden variety.
Like most new varieties it is an apple with good form and size, with a very attractive appearance. The color is deep red over a golden yellow background. The taste is sweet, with a balanced acidity.
Are to be picked in the second half of September. For use October to December.(UK)
