Fuji apple was developed in the 1930s in Japan. It is a cross between two American apple varieties, Red Delicious and Ralls Janet. It came on the market in 1962 and has since spread to a large part of the world and is found in several clones with varying red color. The Fuji apples are large, crisp with juicy white flesh. It has a fresh sweet taste and fine aroma. Fuji is a first-class eating apple, but also suitable for cooking. It has a very long shelf life.
