Api Apple, or Lady Apple, Pomme d'Api.

Api is also known as Lady Apple. It is believed to be found in the woods by Apis, Brittany, France. Registered in 1628 in the French Renaissance and is one of the earliest documented apples. In France, it was grown in the garden belonging to Louis XII. The later Louis XIV believed that it was the only apple variety that was worth cultivating. Api were disseminated throughout Europe, and was later introduced to North America under the name of Lady Apple.

Api is a small apple that is rather flattened. Color may vary. Usually green or yellow with a bright red color. The apples are sweet-tart, crisp and juicy with an aromatic flavor.

Api is a decorative apple, it is a good eating apple and suitable for many uses in the kitchen.
