Crown Prince Frederiks Taffeleble (Table Apple)

In the early 1900s received C. Mathiesen the variety from gardener Damgaard-Moller in Skive, Denmark. The apple was widespread in Skive region, where it is also was known as the Romance Apple. The parent tree is believed to have originated from Orslev monastery near Viborg.
C. Mathiesen also found the variety on Zealand, Denmark.

The tree is medium-sized, is very hardy and fruitful.

The apple is small to medium. The basic color is yellow, but most of the apple is covered by red. The flesh is white with green veins, firm, juicy, with a sweet, winey flavor and delicate aroma.

The apple ripens in late September and can be used a few months. It is a fine and beautiful eating apple.
